“The first time I saw Sammy (Warrior at the time) it was hard not to tear up. He was incredibly emaciated and had a huge wound on the side of his neck. No one seems to know how he acquired it but I assume it had to do with downed barbed wire which was all over the range he inhabited. He couldn’t have been more than 6 months old, but he was fully infested with fleas and ticks. I agreed to take the colt. When I picked him up he was so drained of life that he didn’t even fuss about loading in my trailer.
Once home I had the tedious decision of what the best path would be as far as getting his weight back up and his body back in the condition of a normal, healthy weanling. I am lucky enough to be employed at a local feed store called Pearson Farm & Fence in our area and we carry Equis Feeds. I called our CHS Nutrition Equine Specialist, Natalie, and she told me that Equis Element would be the best thing to offer my little guy. Just like most horse owners I asked her what else he would need. What do I mix with it? What other supplements need to be added? She confidently reassured me that it didn’t need to be mixed with anything else but free choice forage and constant clean water. It worked wonders, it also cut out all the mixing, measuring, and guesswork when it came to his needed supplements and along with feeding free-choice orchardgrass hay, plain salt block, regular deworming and all the clean water he could handle. Sammy blossomed in no time.

Sammy- Summer 2017- “Looking Good”
After two months on this regimen, Sammy was up to a fantastic weight, his mood and energy were greatly improved, and he started to shed out the horrible coat he came with. He soon had beautiful, healthy skin and coat for the summer. Using Equis Element, my feeding schedule was as quick as pouring a coffee can out and a few flakes of hay and I’m done. Without this product Sammy’s progress would not have gone as quickly or as painlessly as it has. I simply want to personally thank Natalie Shaw for her recommendations and CHS for offering such a wonderful easy to use product. I will continue to use this product with all of my future rescue endeavor’s.”
